What do I treat?

I work with adults who experience difficulties with anxiety, depression, panic and bipolar disorder. I also work with people who have been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or who continue to feel the effects of traumatic events throughout their lives. I have several years of experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ population and older adults.

What types of treatment do I use?

I use a variety of treatment approaches, and I take time with clients to decide which evidence-based treatment will be most helpful for them. I have training and experience using the following treatments:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which helps people who experience unstable moods, extreme sensitivity and impulsive actions. I am a Linehan-Board Certified DBT Clinician.

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which assists people to examine and change thinking patterns that lead to painful emotions and problem behaviors

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a psychotherapy that helps reduce the intensity of symptoms and distress that result from traumatic events

  • Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Insomnia (CBT-i), which helps people with moderate to severe sleep disorders

I use change-oriented strategies to help people create the changes they hope to see in their lives. I also work to help people feel safe and understood as they gain insight into their lives and experiences.

How do we start?

Well, you’ve made the first and most important step. Starting the therapeutic process—looking for and contacting a provider—can be difficult. I offer a free consultation to see if therapy might be helpful for you. We can also discuss which treatment would be best for your particular challenges and whether I’d be the therapist most capable to address your needs. If we determine we’re a good fit, we can schedule a first session.

My rate is $160 per hour and I currently accept Aetna, Cigna, Optum (United), Medicare, TriCare, MoHealthNet, Ambetter and Home State Health. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions. Telehealth sessions are held through a HIPAA-compliant platform.
